Our designer interviews are a great way to get to know the talented people behind the brand and for you to understand why we are so proud of them. This week we have caught up with Hannah from Beaumont Organic.
Beaumont Organic offers affordable ethical luxury, with ethical being key. They're all about enjoying fashion whilst giving something back to the world and the person behind this amazing brand is the incredibly talented Hannah. We've asked her a few questions to give a little insight into their story.
Where did it all begin?
I graduated from Leeds university in Fashion and Textiles Marketing. From there I started working in London for Monsoon as a buyers assistant. Whilst in London I began reading about organic and ethical fashion and found a niche in the market for clothing that was on trend whilst also being fairly made, and hence the launch of Beaumont Organic in 2008.
What drives and motivates you and the people working for the brand?
Fashion! We all love clothes and are very aware of fabrics and how they are made.
Favourite moment or highlight so far?
Wow – winning the organic and ethical award in 2008 was definitely a great achievement in the early days. More recently being asked to collaborate with Dressterior Japan which is an amazing store in japan was a huge honour.
Where do you take inspiration?
Every where – I am very creative and constantly inspired by things.
How does that translate to products?
In all different ways. Trims, buckles, shapes, colours, its endless!
On one of my early visits to Porto I was introduced to our bag factory. They are a small family business and said I could work with them using there left over leathers… we have never stopped.
What is your favourite thing about your brand?
Versatility across ages.
What is your dream?
To be the go to brand for organic and ethical luxury.
Where do you see the brand in 3 years time?
Selling online with a huge following and with 50 + stockists in the UK and Japan.
